~ Psalm 91:1 ~

In remembrance of all whom past 8 years ago.
Think about that day. Where were you when it all unfolded? Where are you now because of that day?

Psalm 91:1-16

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."

3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling
even the LORD, who is my refuge-

10 then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning
you to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation."

~ Alaska Scrapbook Layout ~

This layout is from when my mom and I went to Alaska on a cruise. We went in May 2007. What can I say, I am a slow scrapbooker. I had done this same layout for my scrapbook in 8.5x11 and about 1/2 of the rest of the pictures, but never finished the entire book.

I liked the layout so much that I re-did it in 12x12 so I could frame it and hang it on the wall in my craft room.

I plan on doing a layout for each of my kids and there families in 12x12, frame them and hang them in my craft room. That is the plan. Stay tuned for the results

Thank you for stopping by!..

~ Bridal Shower Invitations ~

I made these samples for my son's fiance' Bridal Shower invitations. The theme is tropical because the kids are going to Hawaii for there honeymoon.

The card shape was from a die at my local scrapbook store as a card. When I saw the die, I thought it looked like it would make a cute shape for a purse, so that is what I did. All of the papers are from Hobby Lobby. Love the texured cardstock they sell. The hibiscus flower sticker is by Sandylion, the ribbons finish off the card.

I think they turned out pretty cute. If the other ladies like them I will me making about 30 of them. Stay tuned for pictures.

~ Paperbag Scrapbook ~

Have you ever wondered how to make the cute paperbag scrapbooks you see? I have made so many of these. Trust me, they are addicting. They make great desk scrapbooks, baby shower gifts, mom or dad gifts and more. They are so easy and fun to make.

There are lots of different ways to make paperbag scrapbooks. I have found this works best for me.

Supplies:
  • 5 to 6 paper lunch bags
  • Paper trimmer
  • Crop-a-Dile (for punching holes)
  • Hand punch
  • Scissors
  • 3 to 6 Large brads (optional)
  • Adhesive (I used the zyron sticker machine for the papers on the front and back covers)
  • Complementing ink pad. Brown works great for pretty much all papers. If you are making a girly book, you may want to use pink ink. If you are making a boy book, you may want to use blue.
  • Various ribbons. Mix up strips satin, polka dots, etc.
  • Metal office type rings for binding (optional)
  • Pack of paper lunch bags, you will need at least 5 per paper bag scrapbook. I have found the best paperbags are at Target. They are better paper and better quality. They have white and brown paperbags.
  • Choice of papers, you will need at least 6 pattern and 3 cardstock papers. This is a great project to use all of your scrap papers.
  • Embellishments to finish layouts. I use a lot of ribbons, buttons, rub-ons, and stickers.
General Instructions:
  • Fold each paper lunch bag in half. Fold a pretty hard crease in each of 5 paper bags. I stack mine in a nice stack and place a really heavy book on mine and leave them over night.

  • Punch 3 or 5 evenly spaced holes on the folded side of you first paper lunch bag about ½ inch in. If you have a crop-a-dile you can punch each set of holes at the same time.

  • Optional, if your going to use ink, you will want to ink all edges before assembling the pages together.

Cover:

  • You will assemble the book by feeding ribbon(s) through holes. Stack the folded / punch paper bags then feed the ribbon through the first hole on the first bag, then the next and so on. I use 1 to 3 ribbons for each hole, depending on the thickness of the ribbons. You can feed 1 ribbon through holes 1, 3, and 5, then 2 ribbons through holes 2 and 4. The ribbons don’t have to be the same amount of the same thickness. Mix them up for a more interesting look.

  • Tie the ribbons snug, but not tight enough to tear the paper. Then fold each page to make a crease. or you can use office type rings to hold layers together.

  • You can then put the large brads through each of the holes. Turn the brads so they line up with the fold of the book.

  • The front and back cover consists of 3 or more different papers. The inside pages are constructed like mini layouts. See samples below.

  • Paper bags come in all different sizes and colors. Be sure to measure your folded bag so you know how big to make the main piece of paper for each layout.

  • DON'T adhere any layout pieces together until the entire layout is planned out for each page. This will allow you to tuck and hide parts of the scrapbook layout you want hidden.
  • Divider tabs can be make from any punch you may have, heart, circles, squares, what ever you may have.

You can see more details in my Gallery on Scrapbook.com. Here are a few I have made as gifts.

Be sure to let me know if you are inspired to create a Paperbag Scrapbook!.. Happy Scrapping!..
